New Footbridge At Mindanao Avenue

Brand New Footbridge S omething is new at Mindanao Avenue! Yes, it was just yesterday when a couple of senior citizens were apprehended by a local traffic aide when they decided to use the newly constructed footbridge. According to the aide, the bridge is not yet open for public usage since the other end is still closed. After the clarification, the seniors decided to just cross the street instead. B ut this afternoon, around 4PM, Manila time, a local barker has stopped two men from crossing the street! The men were already halfway the street and were discussing something (as if it's safe to talk while crossing a very busy street!) when they were asked to use the footbridge instead. :)  T he two, of course, would question the barker's authority, so he insisted that traffic aides from that area will be waiting for the two when they crossed and they will be served with jaywalking tickets. Pa-Baon Month Launch Post Was Online A pleasant surprise greeted me this morning after I opened my laptop! After surfing for awhile, I checked on an online magazine that I was excited to see again (for many years) in print.  I wasn't really expecting it to be posted online first since I was told that I will see the article in a glossy magazine which I happen to be searching for since last month. The ever elusive July issue of Women's Journal in the Philippines, that at this time I am still searching for in Manila's bookstores and magazine stands. This magazine was so popular in the 70s and it's one the earliest glossy magazines in the country. This is where I read my first ever excerpt of the popular(but not so popular then) The Bourne Identity novel. This magazine has a portion where they'll publish excerpts from the bestsellers at that time. I was very much a kid then and was not so keen on reading long features and novels.
